Stereoscopic Depth Perception

Bachelor thesis research on stereoscopic depth perception for augmented reality. In order to merge virtual objects visually with reality, it is often necessary to know the distance to real objects. In augmented reality this needs to be computed at high speeds, to achieve real-time rendering.

The research included extensive literary research on depth perception techniques and algorithms, and the parallel implementation of a frequent bottleneck: the Mean-Shift segmentation algorithm.
